Breaking News: Weiner to Resign

The New York Times is reporting Weiner will resign:

Representative Anthony D. Weiner has told friends that he plans to resign his seat after revelations of his lewd online exchanges with women, said a person told of Mr. Weiner’s plans.

I don’t like people that yell and scream like Weiner did.  There are times and places for that type of behavior, but he utilized it far to often.  It demonstrated a different kind of characteristic.

Him sending pictures of himself in the gym and in his draws is consistent with that kind of behavior.

My question now is this:

Where will the Democrats put him?

CNN with the ex-governor of New York?

I gotta wonder, ’cause he ain’t got any other skills.

NY Democrats Get It Right On Abortion

I often hammer the Left.  And for good reason.

However, I don’t work hard enough to hammer the Right when they are wrong or praise the Left when they are right.  [hee hee].

I wanna work on that, and so, to this end, I support the pro-choice legislation introduced by the 2 NY senators.

Housing Boom and Housing Bust: Federal Loans and Foreclosures

Remember when houses were worth more than they are now?  Remember when the value of a home would go up almost overnight?  You could buy one on Tuesday and sell it for a profit by Friday.

Yeah…good times.

Until the bubble hit.  And then it wasn’t such good times; in fact it was bad times.  Really bad times.

The housing bubble hit all of us in some way or another.  For many of us, our homes are worth less now than they were before; we still haven’t caught up.  And the economy?  Well, we know how THAT has played out.  So, with the the downside of such a bubble being so, well, down, the lessons we learned just a few short years ago should still be fresh.  Should still be pertinent, right?

Wrong.

I Don’t Think That Word Means What You Think It Means

Looming Layoffs at Schools Imperil Bloomberg’s Legacy

In proposing to lay off 4,100 teachers, Mr. Bloomberg turned a political third rail into fair game. He is taking on the teachers’ union amid an incendiary national debate over the impact of public employees’ benefits and protections on state and local governments.

If by “Imperil” you mean:

Generates a ton of respect for doing the hard work that must be done in order to ensure that the New York City School System doesn’t absolutely fail every single one of it’s students by reducing a bloated unionized work force.

The yeah.  Imperils is spot on!

Dirty Rotten No Good Unions

And I don’t like ’em very much either.

Greece and California aren’t the only governments in a world of hurt because of the power of Unions.  New York is getting hammered too.

Unions: How to Devastate an Organization

Look.  Unions are wicked wicked things.  And they are not stupid.  They will attach themselves to any host they can find and suck as much of it’s life out as it can.  But they won’t kill the host.

People Say I'm Crazy

Look, for a long time I was pretty much politically agnostic.  I thought I knew where I stood on some issues; abortion, capital punishment guns.  You know, the biggies.  I really didn’t care about taxation, Liberty and economic freedom.  And then it all changed.

Where Brad and Britt Are Wrong: Version I

Some time ago I was listening to Brad and Britt.  They were debating the health care bill [i think?] and one of the points a caller made was that government is unable to do anything well.  Personally I subscribe to this theory and I think it is an excellent point in trying to defeat the current form of health care legislation.  That being said, Britt tried to defend the government by claiming that the government is able to run parks well; State and National.

Feature Not Bug

A long time ago [longer than I like] I turned 10.  My folks performed the usual; presents, cake and a party.  My friends came over, maybe spent the night, fun was had and Normal America ruled the day.  But there was something else that occurred on that birthday.  See, when I turned 10 that year, I was given something that I am still enjoying today; a job!
