Individual Liberty

For too long, the very institution on the spear’s tip of delivering liberty to us all has been suffering from the restriction of that very liberty.

This year, the United States of America righted a wrong and rescinded the prohibition of gays serving openly in the military.

And it’s long passed time.

The Tea Party and The Gay Vote

Tuesday was powerful.  The shift in American politics was one not seen in 60 or more years.

In fact, if you go to the State level, the shift was so massive that it may literally have been unprecedented.  The number of State seats that shifted from the Democrats to the Republicans was devastating to the Democrats.  And it was virtually complete.

And behind the whole thing was the Tea Party.

Not the crazy loons the Left Wing trotted out in front of the news broadcasts to be sure.  But the disciplined message that we are focused on fiscal issues that impact the economy.

Liberty by Law.

Feels Good Being in the Right Side

I dunno.  Sometimes it feels that we’re fightin’ the fools fight.  Tilting at windmills.

People get to vote who they wanna vote in.  If you don’t wanna pay taxes, find 51% of the population that feels like you and vote that guy in.

Stand for the unpopular, the Right, the Just…stand lonely.

Time To Move On

Even if you’re against gay marriage, the time has come to move on.

No one wants to run on this, and they shouldn’t.  It’s a loser.

So this just makes us look dumb:

RALEIGH, N.C. — A national group touring the country to show support for traditional marriage is holding a rally in North Carolina.

The event is one of more than 20 stops on the organization’s summer bus tour.

But there is hope:

North Carolina is the only Southeastern state that hasn’t approved a state constitutional amendment restricting marriage to between one man and one woman.

Carolina may be resisting the dark side.

When the Church Says It’s Okay…

I think we’re seeing a sweeping change in how we view our gay and lesbian neighbors and friends.  Finally.

We’re seeing more and more calls for acceptance.  We’re seeing main stream acceptance in the work place and in the government.

And finally, we’re seeing laws changed to recognize the civil rights of all people.

And even the churches are coming around.

Save Marriage

I’m so very tired of the Left restricting Liberty wherever she shows her face.  I’m further dismayed when the Right does it as well:

Ooohh, That Dog'on Religious Right!

I hate it when opportunities are lost.  And I hate it even more when people go out of their way to make things tougher.  But it would seem that the religious right continues to insist that the restriction of Liberty is no good; unless it’s them that’s doing the restriction.
