Where the Right is Wrong: Gay Marriage

Liberty.  What is it?  What does it mean?  To me, it means being able to make choices and decisions regarding my self and my property.  It means that both my decisions and my labor is my own.  It means I am free.

Going Green: Solar Update

I am still playing with that Kill a Watt meter.  Currently I have it plugged into my fish tank.  Power for two lights and the water pump is at .33 kWH for a run of 14.21 hours.  At that rate the payback for the system is 8.75 years.

Starving Artist's Health Care

Okay, so that whole Pelosi-artist-health care thing.  It’s been at me all day long.  Who in the world can claim that society must work and labor in order to provide for the life of another who chooses a profession that doesn’t provide for themselves?

Happy Birthday . Net

Hard to believe that time flies so quickly.  They’re no sooner crawling and already they want the keys to the car.  My my, it seems only yesterday that the Internet was brought home from the hospital.

Going Green

So, a friend of mine recently purchased a small solar panel for about a hundred bucks.  He then connected it to a deep cycle battery.  And he connected THAT to an inverter.  After only a little bit of sunshine he is able to power his radio, some lights and even some power tools.  All for under $300.

Public Schools: To Educate or Not to Educate

Shetech

I came across a great Pelosi quote this morning; from Coyote:

Think of an economy where people could be an artist or a photographer or a writer without worrying about keeping their day job in order to have health insurance.

Happy A/r^2 Day

Today is March 14th.  Or, abbreviated today is 3.14; the value of Pi.

Happy Pi day!

If you divide the perimeter of The Great Pyramid by it’s height, you get 2π.

By extending π to only 9 digits you can calculate the circumference of the earth to within 1/4 inch.

A river’s meandering is described by its sinuosity – the length along its winding path divided by the distance from source to ocean as the crow flies. It turns out the average river has a sinuosity of about 3.14.

Finally, what do you get if you divide the circumference of a jack-o-lantern by it’s diameter?  Pumpkin pi.
