For the record, I do NOT support Roy Moore for elected office, of any kind. Without the benefit of a trial, I believe the women who are alleging misconduct. I would have him drop out and be replaced as soon as practical.
In the event he cannot be replaced, I urge Alabama voters to vote for someone not Moore.
This is not to say that I would vote for the democrat. Likely I would not. And when pressed by people I know why people continue to support Moore, I tell them this, “Because Liberal Democrats and people who vote for them.”
Due process for me – innocence by drowning for you.
As far as hypocrisy and the claims thrown as such by the left onto the right, I’ll take that burden.
No one would ever answer the question,”Which side of the political aisle is the side of family values?” by responding ‘democrats’. We all know better.
We should be called out when we fail to live up to our moral standards. And no one should be surprised when the left is unashamed when they don’t.
What Is Freedom – What Is Liberty
According to democrats, freedom is being able to live off the labor of others:
Democrats aren’t buying a Congressional Budget Office report finding that President Obama’s healthcare overhaul could cost the economy millions of jobs over seven years.
The nonpartisan office said the loss of the equivalent of 2.3 million full-time jobs could result from Americans adjusting their hours and employment in response to new healthcare options.
While Republicans said the findings show Obamacare is damaging the economy, Democrats argue any reduction in jobs would reflect the greater freedom the bill gives Americans.
“What we see is that people are leaving their jobs because they are no longer job-locked,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told reporters after House votes Tuesday afternoon. “They are following their aspirations to be a writer; to be self-employed; to start a business. This is the entrepreneurial piece. So it’s not going to cost jobs. It’s going to shift how people make a living and reach their aspirations.”
Pelosi said she hadn’t “fully” seen the report, but, “this was one of the goals. To give people life, a healthy life, liberty to pursue their happiness. And that liberty is to not be job-locked, but to follow their passion.”
Democrats have jumped the shark.
I think that Boehner has done more work across the aisles than Reid has done. The minority leaders are largely behind the scenes. But it doesn’t surprise me that Reid has the worst approval while all four of them are negative:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) holds the lowest net approval rating among House and Senate leadership — but others are not far behind.
According to a Gallup poll released Friday, Reid’s approval rating is 33 percent with 53 percent disapproving of his job performance, leaving him with a net rating of negative 20 percent.
Speaker John Boehner (Ohio), who leads the Republican majority in the House, holds a net approval rating of negative 17 percent, with 37 percent of people approving while 54 percent disapprove.
Both minority leaders in the House and Senate hold a net approval rating of negative 12 percent.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has a 35 percent approval rating, while 37 percent disapprove of him. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has the approval of 39 percent of people, but 51 percent disapprove.
I’m sure this is exactly what Obama had in mind when he urged Americans to support him in passing Obamacare:
United Parcel Service Inc. plans to remove thousands of spouses from its medical plan because they are eligible for coverage elsewhere. The Atlanta-based logistics company points to the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as a big reason for the decision, reports Kaiser Health News.
The decision comes as many analysts are downplaying the Affordable Care Act’s effect on companies such as UPS, noting that the move reflects a long-term trend of shrinking corporate medical benefits, Kaiser Health News reports. But UPS repeatedly cites Obamacare to explain the decision, adding fuel to the debate over whether it erodes traditional employer coverage, Kaiser says.
Rising medical costs, “combined with the costs associated with the Affordable Care Act, have made it increasingly difficult to continue providing the same level of health care benefits to our employees at an affordable cost,” UPS said in a memo to employees.
This is exactly what Pelosi meant when she mentioned that we should pass this bill so that we can see what’s in it.
“This is an excuse. The budget deficit is an excuse for the Republicans to undermine government plain and simple. They don’t just want to make cuts, they want to destroy. They want to destroy food safety, clean air, clean water, the department of education. They want to destroy your rights.”
The federal government has spent years considering whether to take steps to help keep dangerous strains of E. coli bacteria out of the food supply, a question that has become even more urgent in the face of a deadly wave of E. coli sickness that swept through Europe and raised alarms on both sides of the Atlantic.
Now, two major American companies, Costco Wholesale and Beef Products Inc., have gotten tired of waiting for regulators to act. They are proceeding with their own plans to protect customers.
Last month, Costco, one of the nation’s largest food retailers, quietly began requiring its suppliers of bagged produce, including salad greens and mixes, apple slices and baby carrots, to test for a broad range of toxic E. coli.
“We know this is where we have to go and there’s no reason to wait,” said Craig Wilson, the food safety director of Costco. In the last two weeks, he said, most produce suppliers have added a test that can detect the strain from the European outbreak as well.
We don’t need government to test our food.
Milton Friedman in a knockout.
I came across a great Pelosi quote this morning; from Coyote:
Think of an economy where people could be an artist or a photographer or a writer without worrying about keeping their day job in order to have health insurance.
Wanna know why Democrats almost always fail in their battles with Republicans? Because they don’t know HOW to govern.
