Monopoly

Wanna know the only way to establish a monopoly?

Government regulations.

And I find it funny that the very same people who clamor when companies like Microsoft or Intel have a “strangle hold” on the market are the very same one who demand, DEMAND I tell you, that the government regulate a monopoly for something that they think needs regulating.

They Know This Healthcare Law is Crap

It really started a long time ago.  While the Democrats controlled the Senate with a bone crushing majority, they knew, they KNEW that they had to have 60 to pass Obamacare.

So, they id what they had to do, scheduled vote after vote and passed the thing in the dead of night on Christmas Eve.  The bill wasn’t perfect, but they could send it to the House, tweak it, and get it through later.

But then Scott Brown won.  So the only option left open was for the House to pass the Senate Bill as was.  And they couldn’t do it.

Only they did.

But they knew then that what they had done was crap.

They knew it then.

One Day I Woke Up And Needed a Fresh Cut Pine Tree…

…about 8ft tall.  Not too much shorter, no need for a short freshly cut pine tree.  And certainly not much bigger; simple could not USE a big freshly cut pine tree.

Oh yeah, and I want it delivered to my house.  Maybe-maybe not.  But at the very least, it has to be dropped off for me to pick up no further than 3 tenths of a mile from where I live.

And when I say freshly cut, I mean literally, this sucker was in the ground 36 hours ago.  MAX!

Sounds silly doesn’t it?

From the File Labeled “No Shit”

So, the big news out of Washington is that Obama has compromised with the Republicans.  Tax cuts for everybody all the while extending unemployment benefits for some more amount of time.

The complain from the Left, and I admit that I’m impressed the Left cares about such nonsense, is that the tax cuts will add to the deficit.

Funny To Watch

I am hard on Democrats.  And to be fair, I should really be more clear and rail against Liberals.  After all, I am SURE there are some decent minded Democrats out there.  The problem is, however, that Democrats are forced to keep supporting Liberals….and THAT makes me look at ’em sideways.

Anyway, the recent TSA hullaballu has me laughing at people.  And in this case, I’m mostly laughing at the Right.

A Glimmer of Hope?

Years ago Delta Airlines acquired Northwest Airlines.  And with Northwest came the Unions.

Now, as the companies are finalizing the merger, the heavily Unionized Northwest employees combined with the non-Unionized Delta employees are voting on representation.

And the Unions are losing.

Big time.

Value Based Decisions

We make ’em every day.

Do we want this product knowing that if we buy it, we won’t be able to have that product.

This for that.

Is it worth it for me?

Tax Hikes and Tax Cuts

Let’s get one thing straight.

We ALL agree that we ALL should pay SOME tax.

The government needs money to pay for things that governments do.

We can disagree about what a government should do and how much it costs that government to do it, but serious, we have to pay some form of tax.

That said, what we tax and how much we tax is a whole conversation that needs to be had.

Confusion in Durham

It’s heating up.  And something has to be done.

We need strong leadership on the issue and we need it now.

Sadly, Obama isn’t gonna be the guy to do it.

1.  He simply doesn’t know HOW to lead.  Which, of course, has been my main complaint all along.

2.  He doesn’t WANNA lead right now because it’ll interfere with his election prospects.

So, it’s left to the states and the towns.

And THIS is what you get when that happens:

Sacrifice

There’s an old saw that says:

There’s a reason it’s called “Risk Taking”.  If there wasn’t, they’d call it “Sure Thing Taking”.

The same holds true regarding decisions of fiscal responsibility.
