BJ Lawson

We have a great chance here to make a difference.  Mr. Lawson is running for the seat currently held by David Price here in North Carolina’s 4th district.

Senate Race 2010: V

Tonight looks like a good night to update some of the races.

Let’s look at the first group; Retiring Democrats

State Inc Party R-Candidate D-Candidate Leader Spread
CT D McMahon Blumenthol D 22
DE D Castle Open R 20
IL D Kirk Giannoulias R 5
ND D Hoevan Open R 24
IN D Coats Ellsworth R 12

I have moved the Indiana race to retiring Democrats; Mr. Bayh retired.  Not much has changed since last time I posted except that McMahon has slipped and Castle has surged.

Based on this and restarting the count we have the Republicans gaining 4 seats.

Score:  Democrats 55 Republicans 45

Not bad.

Lottery: To Play it is to Lose it

I relentlessly chastise friends and family for playing the lottery.  It’s designed for its players to lose.  Even the way the game is design to create an environment for its players to lose.

Coffee With Cato: II

Obama nominated his second Justice to the court.  I’m pretty sure that even he can’t screw this one up.  The Democrats still control 59 seats in the Senate so this is as close to a slam dunk as possible.

Health Care Benefit

One of the “gets” for Obama and the Democrats during the Health Care debate and vote is the ability for parents to keep their children on their insurance plans until those turn 27.  A 26-year-old adult child can be carried on his parent’s insurance plan.

United States House: North Carolina

North Carolina had her primaries yesterday.  While there were many races, I was really only concerned with one:  District 4.  This race featured BJ Lawson and Frank Roche.  Both candidates are strong and I would be happy with either one.  However, I was pulling for Mr. Lawson to pull it out.  And he did:

District 4 Primary

We now have until November to get him packing for Washington.

However, there are several other races that have my interest too:

2nd District:  Seat held by Bob Etheridge

4th District:  Seat held by David Price

13th District:  Seat held by Brad Miller

There are other seats held by Democrats, but many of those representatives have a more conservative vein in ’em and really, I would rather focus on the largest of the Leftists.

Let’s see what we can do to get these guys out of office!

Coffee With Cato: I

I love CATO.  And their blog.  You should go read ’em both.  Anyway, I am going to try to work out a piece every Tuesday that grabbed my attention over there and discuss my take.

This is the first installment.

Understated Courage

How wonderfully eloquent.

Arizona: Full Court Press

The bill just passed into law was enough to fire up the Left, wait until they see the NEW legislation coming down the road.
