Arguments, you know, are sometimes more about miscommunication than they are disagreement about an agreed upon topic.
I wanna make sure I clear this up right away.
I am against Federally supported health care, medical care or health insurance.
I am FOR making the health care industry more stremlined, less burdened by administration costs and delays and for making it as safe as possible.
I am ALWAYs for making things better.
Just sayin.
Kay Hagan had her first speech on the Senate floor this week. I am sure that it was a proud moment for her and for her family. Well done and good luck.
In part:
“When someone is discriminated against in the workplace or anywhere else, surely they feel the impact of that discrimination far longer than 180 days,” she said.
They may, in fact, feel the impact for the rest of their life. But at some point, ya gotta bring your case or—or not.

I was reading through the News and Observer article describing the Govna’s first day in office. Now, I have switched jobs, taken responsibility over from someone else and even given responsibility to someone who is taking over my role. Changes happen. People think that they have better ideas, or fresh ideas or just, I don’t know, ideas. I have no issue with that. But what struck was this her quote on the Board of Transportation. The article sets it up this way
Perdue ordered that the state Board of Transportation, criticized over the years for approving projects based on patronage and parochialism instead of need, cede its authority to approve road projects to the secretary of transportation. Such decisions would be made by the professional planners and engineers at the department, while the board acts as a planning group.
State law, however, requires that the board be consulted on any spending in districts represented by board members. Perdue acknowledged the statutory obstacle, but said the board will shift gears voluntarily.
Okay, okay, s she has some “politicking to do”. Or, then again, maybe not:
“Because the governor of this state appoints the DOT board, we will be able to convince them very easily to delegate that authority,” she said.
Hmmm, color me naive, but that doesn’t sound right.

Okay, so it’s not official US currency, but damn! It didn’t take Obama long to get his mug adorned on official government issued papers.
Obama and his arrogance
CNSNEWS.COM is reporting that the DC Metro is issuing fare cards and tickets that have The Chairman smiling back at us. The height of the arrogance of this man is quickly moving past head shaking to absolute disgust. I mean we have gone from Mt. Olympus to the Office of the President Elect. Serious, this guy is more Hollywood than humble servant. And the free pass that has been given him makes it even worse.
Maybe it’s because this is being treated more like a coronation than an inauguration. Because people feel that they have “won” in the same way that they feel they “win” when the Heels beat Duke; I’m not sure. I just don’t see any real in depth look at what this guy is saying, what it means for us and even if he is right–or could be wrong. I just get the feeling that as long as he stands there, and holds court in such a manner that we find ourselves “hoping” he is right, that he will be. That somehow what he is saying is not as important as it is simply not Dubya.
No, this man understands what he has right now, and that is the hearts of the country. He is able to say anything and everyone will just nod along and agree. This most certainly worries me.
