Coffee With Cato: II

Obama nominated his second Justice to the court.  I’m pretty sure that even he can’t screw this one up.  The Democrats still control 59 seats in the Senate so this is as close to a slam dunk as possible.

United States House: North Carolina

North Carolina had her primaries yesterday.  While there were many races, I was really only concerned with one:  District 4.  This race featured BJ Lawson and Frank Roche.  Both candidates are strong and I would be happy with either one.  However, I was pulling for Mr. Lawson to pull it out.  And he did:

District 4 Primary

We now have until November to get him packing for Washington.

However, there are several other races that have my interest too:

2nd District:  Seat held by Bob Etheridge

4th District:  Seat held by David Price

13th District:  Seat held by Brad Miller

Tea Anyone?

The test is coming.  The energy and excitement that is and has been caused by, the Tea Party movement is gonna be tested in the coming months.  It’s one thing for a group of folks to get mad and meet in the park.  It’s another thing entirely for that group of people identify a leader, for that leader to be qualified, and move the group from loosely connected to organized force.

Health Care Bill: Don't Repeal-Make Better

I’m pretty scrawny.  Built for lovin’-not fightin’ has been my motto since I was like 7.  So I am leery at the Republicans thoughts of repealing this bill.
