In one night alone the Occupy Wall Street movement had many people arrested:
(Reuters) – Tensions boiled over early on Tuesday in downtown Boston, where police arrested more than 100 protesters after the Occupy Boston group expanded its footprint and was told by authorities to move back.
The OWS folks have been at this for less than a month and already they have seen violence and lawlessness.
The Tea Party?
Zero arrests.
I’ve been listening to the Brad and Britt show for a whole bunch of years, Partly because they are local, partly because they are entertaining and partly because I need some Leftist influence. Just to keep me honest. And almost always, they deliver. I enjoy the show.
I get that they are a profit center. They are hired to deliver ratings in a market so that they can sell advertising to an customers. I get it. And so I mostly let most of the stuff they say go in and then go out. They’re playing to an audience and are more circus performers than they are knowers of important things.
But jeepers, sometimes they say things that are just not so right. So wrong in fact, that they are lying. And I call ’em out. And when I post I tweet. And they notice.
Sunday night I pinged Brad and Britt. I posited that the Occupy Wall Street crowd is racist. I came to this conclusion in the same way the media decided that the Tea Party was racist. Some fun tweets occurred and we called it a night.
Then I listened to this:
The interview was offensive. And after I dropped my kids off at school, more of the same. A caller was interrupted by Britt parodying Rush and shouting him down. Funny stuff, I guess, if you’re on that side of the football field.
And I called him out:
The response of the tolerant Leftists? They “blocked” me on Twitter.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m a Twitter rookie. I’ve had an account for years and only posted a little. That I get blocked or not blocked isn’t the point. The point is, that’s how the Left rolls.
It used to be the law that:
Previously, California had banned minors under the age of 14 from using tanning beds, but allowed those between 14 and 18 years of age to use tanning beds with parental consent.
Now, though, California has gone further:
Minors in the state of California will no longer be allowed to use tanning beds after Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill on Sunday prohibiting anyone under the age of 18 from using ultraviolet tanning devices.
But minors wanting abortions, without parental consent, are still okay.
Douche bags.
I shouldn’t be surprised. Democrats have long ago abandoned any hope of defending individual liberty. In so far that the Liberal Left picks up any cause, it’s done simply to gather that group’s vote in future elections. You think the Democrats support civil rights? Look at their record on civil rights votes. Think that Liberals defend folks who are discriminated because of who they are? Consider the same Liberals who demand their music not be played at certain functions.
Public schools? Look where Obama sends his kids.
And now we have one more example of a Leftist going out in public displaying her finest pandering colors:
RALEIGH, N.C. — Gov. Beverly Perdue announced Friday she’ll vote against a change to North Carolina’s constitution next May that would prohibit gay marriage…
See. A hypocrite.
“But Pino”, you may claim, “she is voting against the amendment and FOR liberty! Ahhh, but look closer:
Perdue said in a prepared statement she believes marriage is between one man and one woman and voted while in the Legislature for a 1996 law so that North Carolina couldn’t recognize same-sex marriages in other states.
“I continue to support that law today,” Perdue said.
So, how does the good Govna of the Great State of North by God Carolina explain her fllippy floppyness of her vote?
“But I’m going to vote against the amendment because I cannot in good conscience look an unemployed man or woman in the eye and tell them that this amendment is more important than finding them a job.”
This is crap.
But I shouldn’t be surprised.

You know what? I resonate with the Democrat party and the far left liberals that make it up. I do.
More and more in my life I find myself bumping into the mass of humanity that just doesn’t care. They make their way through life and are simply interested in the “me”. They want “their” iPad, “their” cable TV, “their” car and “their” house.
Not one single second to pause for consideration of the “them”. The “them” who have none of that. Who struggle to make it by. Who are lonely, who are hungry and who are homeless.
I’ve always resonated with that. Since I can remember, my parents always taught me that we were the lucky ones and to always ALWAYS think of those who didn’t have what we had.
And I’ve tried to live my life in such a manner that reflects that.
I give money and I give time. I organize people to do things that result in the benefit of others. I join organizations that work to make this world a better place. A better place not for me, but for people I don’t know. And it’s incredibly rewarding and satisfying. There are times, in fact, that I weep* upon reflection of the works that organizations I am a part of have done.
But as I look back at the things that we have done, I am always reminded that there could have been so much more. So much more if only more people were involved. And I’m distressed at the people who turn me down as I ask for their help in doing the things that we do.
I call.
I text.
I e-mail.
I implore.
I mock.
Nothing. I can not move these people into activity. And it kills me. It kills me because I find myself ineffective AND it kills me because there are people like that. And I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to say, how to say it or when to say it.
I don’t. And I wanna scream
So I get the rage and I get the feeling of helplessness. Really. I do.
But I would never pass a law that required YOU to contribute to MY charity.
If you are sad that people don’t care about poor people being hungry, work harder at feeding hungry people. If you think that more people need to make more money, work harder at making more jobs that pay more people more money.
But let me be very clear. When you legislate your version of morality, you are a monster.
* To be very clear, there should be NO confusion as to who wears the pants and who wears the skirt in my family!

And who would have thought it would come from, of all places, France?
I mock France in all of its caricatures. The social state, the welfare, the lifestyle and the arrogance. I do. I admit it, in fact, I embrace it. But I have to admit, I took hope in France tonight.
The story of Kelley Williams-Bolar is a sad one. At least I think it is. And, and it’s a good one. The story is about a flawed mother who, in this case, is simply looking to do right by her kids.
In America, that’s about as noble as it gets.
I’m not sure how many people know that Rick Perry used to be a Democrat. While other politicians have certainly made up for this deficit, I’m not sure Perry will:
Whether or not the good Govna’ from Texas can make up for his past sins isn’t important right now. What IS important is how I can tell he used to be a Democrat:
“If you say that we should not educate children who have come into our state for on other reason that they have been brought there by no fault of their own, I don’t think you have a heart,” Perry said.
Did’ja see that? Governor Perry wants us to govern based on “heart”. As in, if you don’t love puppies, you don’t have a heart. As in, if you don’t think that the government is entitled to steal your property because poor people don’t have health insurance, you don’t have a heart. As in, if you don’t think that the rich need to pay more in taxes while some people do without food iPhones, you don’t have a heart.
The capital “O” Oughts of government have nothing to do with “heart”. They have to do with a concept called Liberty.
The sooner we bring this lesson home the sooner our country gets back on the right track.

Ayn Rand is a lightning rod. A lightning rod for many many different reasons. But I wanna discuss a single one tonight. That is, that Ayn Rand promotes a certain degree of selfishness.
I’m not necessarily a Rand fan-boy. I do think that her book Atlas Shrugged, the only Rand book that I’ve read, is an epic tale of government encroachment. However, her views on virtually anything beyond what she spoke to in that novel is new to me. With the exception of one concept, that of her aforementioned concept of selfishness.
