I’ve been ignoring the Joe Biden “chain” comments. It seems silly. These guys makes speech after speech after speech.
Maybe we can cut ’em a break.
I didn’t know what Biden was trying to say. I don’t know what he WASN’T trying to say. I simply didn’t think that the democrats were trying to make the case that the republicans were racists.
Then I happened to hear the comments:
Dood. Biden slipped into the cadence. He took a whole new tone and accent. His arms raised as if he were a preacher. His pause is reminiscent of a preacher.
He meant chains in the sense that in the past, white people used chains to control black slaves.
He had the tone, the timber, the cadence and the theatrics.
He’s using race to forward his political ends. And that’s bigotry.
Well, when you have no record to run on, see what sticks to the wall….Obama was gonna cut the deficit in half his first term, he never learned anything in 20 years at Wright’s church, his transparent administration urges you to pass bills before you see what’s in them & uses executive privelege to protect his AG, “evolved” into a pro-gay pres, etc. Who the hell is this guy and why would want him in charge any longer?

I don’t think there’s hatred there. And I don’t think there is direct intolerance of a group. But what IS going on is that Mr. Biden is playing off what he thinks the audience would perceive as bigotry on the part of the republicans. And we see this nonsense all the time from the left.
So the bigotry is in play in two cases. One, Biden makes a play on it whereby he implies the republicans want to the folks in the audience “back in chains.” Them the more direct form of bigotry is that he thinks that those same folks will let such an insult slide because he feels they share the same political agenda.
It’s insulting to say that a segment of the population wants to see people enslaved. It’s insulting to say it. And it’s insulting to think that a certain group of people will just be okay with that.
With a left that race baits and plays the race card every chance they get and a right that’s been called “bigots” and “racists” more times than one can count, it’s perfectly understandable to me that if Biden’s going to lob such an easy one over the plate to swing at the Republicans are going to take a hard swing at it, but personally I’m tired of the whining from either side re: the character attacks (and the attacks themselves, for that matter).
Regardless, it was stupid of Biden to say what he said and ridiculous of him to try to talk like a southerner as he said it. Next I suspect he’ll be trying to talk like a gangsta when he meets with the inner-city?
Ultimately what baffles me is the message of “Trust Government, we’ll save you” that’s coming from the left and people buying it when in these past four years I don’t believe they’ve saved much of anything.
If my record was that crappy, I’d be rolling out Biden wherever and whenever I could between now and Labor Day just to keep the distractions off my record alive. 😉

Biden is great comic relief, but now he is a net negative for team Obama . Well I remember how the left succeeded in proclaiming Sarah Palin stupid . We do not have to even try to do that to old Joe . I think pointing out that old Joe is just a heartbeat away from the Presidency is a good secondary avenue to hammer and hammer the incumbents . Poor old Joe will soon be 70 and I just do not believe he is as up to stepping into the Presidency as Paul Ryan would be, should it be necessary.
