We All Want Equal Pay

There’s a lot of discussion surrounding equal.  Specifically as it relates to pay between women and men.

I came across this study on monnkeys and equal pay.

Aside from being funny, what does the video tell us about pay equity?

  1. Well, im not sure what you think it says but i think that the one monkey clearly got shorted. He handed the rock over fair and square. Little guy deserved that stinking grape.

It also says that trickle down economics may not work as effectively as you think. The grape receiving monkey neither shared nor used his grape to build something that would benefit the whole society.

Damn dirty apes. Err, capuchin monkeys.

He did. And he knows it. And he knew it RIGHT away.

Not so sure. The experimenter mentioned that the monkeys would perform the job 25 straight times as long as equity extended. As soon as inequity was introduced, the monkey rejected. He felt that equal work, that is a task done equally well, deserved equal pay. The monkey knew immediately that differences in pay were present.

The grape receiving monkey neither shared nor used his grape to build something that would benefit the whole society.

But again, the experimenter mentioned that apes taking part in this experiment refused to work until their lessor paid peers were compensated equally.
