Brad and Britt And Glass Houses

So, two months ago local talk radio show hosts were taking phone calls on their show.  The guys at Brad and Britt are Liberal.  I don’t think that they’d object to being described as left of center.  Anyway, they took this call from a listener and it turned out he subscribed to the more conservative point of view.  Britt, clearly having taken the opposite point of view went into his “Little Rush” imitation.  This is where he puts on Rush’s radio bumper music and does a fantastic impression of Rush.  By itself, Little Rush is hilarious and spot on, using it to yell over an earnest caller is obnoxious.

I called him out:

That Tweet got me “blocked”.

Meanwhile, Britt feels it’s totally appropriate to call out Neil Boortz in a much less polite tweet:

This is how the Left rolls.  Free speech for me, censorship for thee.

UPDATE:

It would appear that The TalkMaster blocked Britt months ago:

Not sure that this makes any difference what-so-ever, but Britt felt it was important to include.

Done.

  1. And Britt will block me in 3…..2…..1……

  2. What do you mean “blocked”? It’s twitter, you can post whatever you want…

      It’s all about the @.

By blocking a member, you can prevent that person from having their @you tweets from appearing in searches.

      • Ah, gotcha. Well, that’s a pretty lame thing to do. And they’re “professionals” (I’ve got zero respect for talk radio on either side), so whining that someone blocked them is a lousy excuse for blocking someone else. Especially when you were basically advertising…

Then again, I think yelling over the caller IS part of the Rush impression 🙂

        The initial interview is here:

        It’s about 5-6 minutes in.

Now, like I’ve said, I like listening to these guys. And I heard this and even kinda sided with the hosts. Kinda.

But I objected to the Little Rush shout down. The part that got me was when he did it to a real listener the next day.

      • Hmmmmmm, not sure I can make it through this whole interview. The reporter they’re talking to is moronic, though, on and on about how Occupiers are meth-fueled communists fueled by Soros-money and doing the organized will of MoveOn.org while they destroy Starbucks…

There’s some interesting points being raised, but the reporter has created these ridiculous straw men protesters. And by the end, the reporter has undercut his credibility and become completely defensive. I think at that point, it’s not a shoutdown when the guy is just repeating his BS.

Right. Add to that he complained that he was “called” Archie Bunker.

In the end, these are professional Pols and should have thick enough skin. I thought it was an interesting and entertaining interview and didn’t think about it again.

Until the next day. That’s when a normal listener called in. He was a reasonable guy but leaned Right. That’s when the host busted out his Little Rush again and that’s when I tweeted the above. When he shouted down the caller.

Again. These guys are normally great. They’re often “wrong”, as in – more Liberal than me. But they’re local, talk about stories from a NC perspective and I need to listen to more Liberal stuff than I need to listen to a Rush or Hannity.

Anyway. It ‘tiz what it ‘tiz.
