As if it wasn’t bad enough that Obama lied his way through 3 debates, he’s out on the trail today and has been caught in another “whopper.”
Referencing Romney’s opposition to the auto bailout, Obama continued, “If you say you love American cars during a debate, but you wrote an article titled ‘Let Detroit Go Bankrupt’ — you may have Romnesia.”
Not only does Obama “forget to mention” that his plan eventually resulted in the bankruptcy of Detroit he fails to mention that Romney advocated federal assistance in that article. The only thing that Romney objected to was the bailout; a view that in hindsight is 100% accurate.
And let’s not forget to mention that the sole beneficiary of that bailout was Obama’s union friends.
Obamnesia to be sure.
So, I have to tell you how hard it was to resist the temptation to go down the obvious post title on this one.
It was really really hard.
There, now ya know.
But really, cars and airplanes are not strictly the same thing. And, for that matter, neither is the making of cars and the flying of airplanes the same thing either. However, companies that make cars and companies that fly airplanes ARE kinda the same. Same in enough ways that they make for useful comparisons.
I posted on an earlier story about media bias. However the main point of the story was missed in the bias stuff; the fact that the US government lost $1.3 billion.
THAT is a lot of money.
Never to be seen again.
But the government bailing out the auto industry was a good idea, right?
