What is the difference between this:
And this:
To me, it might be that one guy campaigns on family values and the other doesn’t. That makes it irony or hypocrisy. Or it might be that one guy actually think that family values are meaningful enough to run on and that what we have is a Tragic story in the failures of mankind. Or maybe its that one guy knows enough to resign and the other doesn’t.
Open thread- What do YOU think?
They both knew what they were doing was wrong. That’s why one resigned and the other denied it. There is a general difference in how each party deals with these types of events; separate precedences for equal situations.

Great point.

I tend to think so. I’m of the mind that liberal democrats don’t see this behavior as “wrong as do conservative republicans.
I think that a guy named Wiener got caught showing his wiener to a woman that wasn’t his wife.
Sometimes you just cannot make this stuff up.
I think that a guy named Wiener
Deep down, I always chuckled in that 7th grade boy kinda way…….
Yeah, I just cannot help myself on this one…
Both show just how in love these guys are with themselves. Sad how public office is more a matter of narcissism than it is service.

I wonder.
Do slimy people run for office or does elected office make good people slimy?
I think truly honest, generous people who run for office are the exception, not the norm. Negotiation is an ugly business – no place for panzies.
I do have some experience the political field. I worked with campaign staff and politicians. Almost all of the politicians I dealt with had an easily recognized narcissism. Of those, the more “seasoned” they are, the more “slimy” they get. Many of them have a significant amount of slime to begin with.
Full disclosure: This was in Illinois, and not with the Democrats.

There has to be something about a man that would make him willing to submit to the nastiness of a campaign in order to obtain that position. I just always hope it’s not slime.
