Years ago Delta Airlines acquired Northwest Airlines. And with Northwest came the Unions.
Now, as the companies are finalizing the merger, the heavily Unionized Northwest employees combined with the non-Unionized Delta employees are voting on representation.
And the Unions are losing.
Big time.
The latest blow? The latest vote:
In an election for 673 stock and stores employees, 439 (72 percent) voted not to be represented, and 168 voted for a union, according to results released Monday.
The loss for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) follows two union defeats this month by 29,000 Delta fleet workers and flight attendants.
With all the crummy news in the city, state. nation and world, this warms my heart.
To the very core.
And in no small part increases my belief that we have a chance here in America.
