We need a new strategy to more accurately measure the actual unemployment rate. In my world it would require asking everyone three questions.
Question One: What is your current weekly earnings? (If you are not employed, it would be zero.)
Question Two: How many hours per week are you available for additional employment?
Question Three: What is the minimum amount that you would accept per week to work those additional hours?
We need a new strategy to more accurately measure the actual unemployment rate.
Hi Henry,
I think you’re right. However, I would add that if there is a job out there, and you don’t take it because of money, you should no longer be considered unemployed.
