Everywhere Liberty is forced into hiding.
From the Left and, in California, from the Right.
Today, she has loosened the bonds restricting her a little more.
A Federal judge in California today ruled that all people, regardless of race, creed, sexual orientation or color, have the Rights and Liberty before the government.
SAN FRANCISCO — In a major victory for gay rights advocates, a federal judge on Wednesday struck down a California ban on same-sex marriage.
…
“Moral disapproval alone is an improper basis on which to deny rights to gay men and lesbians. The evidence shows conclusively that Proposition 8 enacts, without reason, a private moral view that same-sex couples are inferior to opposite-sex couples,” Walker wrote.
The judge added in the conclusion of the 136-page opinion: “Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license.”
Leaving aside politics, this is a great ruling for America and for Liberty loving people the world over!
Let freedom ring!
A fine decision indeed.
If we want to worry however about liberty, check out the little deal Google and Verizon on cooking up to defeat net neutrality.

or read about it at CNET or anywhere else. This is very worriesome.

What I don;t understand is how California found 7 million people to vote FOR the law in the first place.
INCREDIBLE
Same way you always get people to vote to stop something – make them afraid of it. But in this partricular case, it was the Mormon Church who mounted a huge, expensive and state wide campaign. And they got their money’s work.
make them afraid of it.
That’s a LOT of people.
It is a lot of people. So they did a very good job.
Vern – there is an update on this story. The FCC apparently took some action late yesterday.
