It started in Virginia and moved to New Jersey. After that, the momentum swept to Massechusetts [heh heh – dumb bitch misspelled her own state!]. But beyond that, the writing has been on the wall for some time now:
“We didn’t like the Republicans but this, THIS, is NOT what we had in mind!
The Republicans screwed things up. In many ways they were not responsive or representative of the people. Some of it is because they had bad policy. Some of it was because they failed to market their message. And let’s face it, there were many many faults with how the Right governed. Lack of fiscal restraint, a war that was vastly unpopular combined with no end in sight. Abusing individual Liberty in the name of that war and the list goes on and on. And on. And so the Republicans got hammered; and how.
November came and America said “We want something different.”
Well, in one short year America has seen Change and is responding yet again. And it is impacting the electorate from Massachusetts to California:
Incumbent Democrat Barbara Boxer is now in a virtual dead heat with former Congressman Tom Campbell in California’s U.S. Senate race.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds Boxer leading Campbell 43% to 41%.
Imagine. Imagine a Massachusetts Democrat losing to a Republican AND the same thing happening in California.
America is still a young nation. We are still finding our way. But it seems clear that what we want, what we demand, is the ability to grab onto and combust what we call “American Dynamism”. It is that, the ability for a person to make it all or lose it all. To be personally responsible for themselves. It is THAT quality that we crave and will not yield.
You may be to the right of that; you may be to the left. But it is clear that we define ourselves by the THAT.
