Trying to Explain Obamacare to Liberals

This is how I feel all the time!

  1. Conservatives surely do love their straw men. It saves them from having to engage in an intelligent and substantive discussion of the issues. I have never in my life encountered a liberal intellectually or morally stunted enough to have made any of the statements this video puts into our mouths. You know, if you’d actually listen to liberals, and ask questions until you understood, you wouldn’t have to make up such dishonest tripe.

The problem is that reality, and liberal thinking, are complex and nuanced and therefore do not easily translate to the overly simplistic, manichean perceptions of conservatives. Thus the straw men.

      Hi Clai,

The point is, however, that Liberals don’t know what is and what isn’t A) viable and B) legal.

I’ve never questioned the intentions of the liberal. I firmly believe that you’re trying to help the “little guy”. It’s not that your mean or evil, it’s that you’re wrong.

  2. My opposition to the healthcare reform bill has nothing to do with politics, but it also has nothing to do with health care. I just look at it as the start of a slippery slope that will cause serious financial problems for some of our people and the government in the future. I do have one question though. With the exception of people that had in the past been denied insurance due to pre existing conditions, is there anyone that actually favors the legislation for none political reasons.

      Yes.

They favor it because they enjoy the fact hat children can remain on their parent’s policy until they are 26. This is one, honesty, that I don’t get.

For example, there should be no reason that I couldn’t insure anyone. For example, if I so desired, I should b e able to insure you.

Secondly, they feel that the government is able to manage insurance better than the private sector. They are horrified that people are profiting on people’s health and sickness. They feel that if it is subject to “capitalism” it becomes in everyone’s best interest to minimize care and service.
