There is Talkin’ The Talk…

I’m new to politics.  I’m a junky, but I’m a new one.

For example, I don’t know that politicians have been forever promising to reduce spending only to increase it.

I don’t know that we’ve been tricked and treated for ever.

But I do now.

Which makes Michelle Bachmann’s proposal pretty unique.

Not only did she run on reducing the deficit, she actually proposed cuts; specific ones.  And she’s gonna get beat up over it:

The Minnesota Republican congresswoman, who is positioning herself as a leading critic of the Obama administration in the wake of the midterm elections, earlier this week outlined $400 billion worth of possible spending cuts. The plan projected huge savings from drastic measures like abolishing the Department of Education, overhauling farm subsidies and eliminating a host of Justice Department grants and programs.

That’s huge.  Massive.

By suggesting that we reduce benefits to veterans, Bachmann is going after one of the few protected groups that ALL American’s resonate with.  She’s right, of course, but she’s gonna get hammered.

But the part I like the most?  The part where she says she wants to cut farm subsidies.  One of chief critiques is that her family benefits from government money.  This proposal should end that.
