Very Cool: Progress Via Coolest Demonstration I’ve Seen in a While

The genesis of Tarheel Red can be traced to two things:

  1. My politicization as a result of the 2008 Presidential Election.
  2. Reading the books of Malcolm Gladwell.

The combination of data explained in a fascinating manner and the danger that is Obama has lead me read and read and read.  And then write some.

THIS, however, is just simply awesome.

Hans Rosling:

Professor of International Health at Karolinska Institute and Director of the Gapminder Foundation, which developed the Trendalyzer software system. From 1967 to 1974 he studied statistics and medicine at Uppsala University, and in 1972 he studied public health at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore.

But what he’s done that I think is just the coolest is develop Gapminder.

Gapminder is a non-profit venture – a modern “museum” on the Internet – promoting sustainable global development and achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

Anyway.  Look at this demonstration of  his data and how he presents it.  Lost in the coolness of the presentation is the fact that the world is progressing at a remarkable pace.  Don’t let the Leftists trick you!

  1. Very cool indeed! I saw Mr. Rosling’s TED Talk and was impressed both with the content and with him as a speaker – very lively!

Also a Gladwell fan, too, but I’ll address that in another post…

I have to remember that as I try to emulate his data presentation, that Dr. Rosling is a gifted public speaker!

  3. Hey Pino! Nice to see you outside BH’s blog. What sort of speaking do you do?
