I have been so wrong for so long. It turns out that embracing Liberalism has its perks:
There will be no valedictory speech at Jericho High School’s graduation on Sunday.
no one wanted to sit through a solid half-hour of inspirational quotations and sappy memories.
So far so good. No sappy speeches, sign me up. But I’m leery, Liberals LOVE sappy speeches, why not this time?
In top suburban schools across the country, the valedictorian, a beloved tradition, is rapidly losing its singular meaning as administrators dispense the title to every straight-A student rather than try to choose the best among them.
Aahh, yes! I see it now…God forbid that we would only have ONE! That just wouldn’t be fair:
Principals say that recognizing multiple valedictorians reduces pressure and competition among students, and is a more equitable way to honor achievement
Riiiight…….
Because that’s EXACTLY how real life works! I mean hell, not even college works like that:
In the last two years, at least 10 law schools have deliberately changed their grading systems to make them more lenient. These include law schools like New York University and Georgetown, as well as Golden Gate University and Tulane University, which just announced the change this month. Some recruiters at law firms keep track of these changes and consider them when interviewing, and some do not.
Ahhww hell! What is going on here?!?
The single best mechanism to generate bigger, faster, smarter people is competition! This is not something we should shun, this is something we should EMBRACE!
I can’t THINK of anything so insidious as “equitable way to honor achievement”!
